Hello. How do I install ebase from scratch with the original data? I do not have a CD burner on my old computer. How do I move the data from one to another? How do I copy the data from an old computer onto a sample copy? What is a sample copy? One that I get off the ebase website?? I have a PC not a Mac. What does Filemaker pro have to offer? No one has ever said what it does. Will it be worth the $150 or so to buy it? ebase + data won't fit on a single floppy. Exactly what did you put on the floppy? What do you mean computer won't open it up?
You should have installed ebase on the new machine from scratch with original data. Then you should have copied all the .103 files from the old computer on top of the sample data on the new one. It should open at that point when you double click on ebase.exe. There are problems doing this if you are changing from PC to Mac or vice versa but that is not your case (or is it?)
V2 is looking good but not quite ready for prime time except for the very adventurous.
I can understand people trying ebase without FileMaker and even running with it for a while. But you are restricted from doing so many things that it seems foolhard to continue in that mode for very long.
