I'm not sure I would agree. Certainly it is different, so if you are 
accustomed to version 1 you will find it difficult until the 
navigation becomes familiar.

Not sure what you mean by specific. The v1 query function is the 
normal means of searching in v2. You can search contacts or items, 
which is the equivalent of searching on the 3 query pages in v1. The 
found set gets saved, so you can narrow or expand the search later, 
which is the equivalent of answering Modify in the query dialog in 
v1. The single button Find in v1 is replaced by  the quick find in 
v2. I think the search dialogs in v2 are a lot more clear than the 
cryptic "Keep, Modify, Create" choices presented in the v1 query.

I agree that both of those are unfortunate, and I expect we'll see 
those appear in 2.01.

If it does what you need, there's certainly no drive to make the 
investment in transition time and training that an upgrade would 
require.
