I use JFile database on my Palm. I export the fields I want from Ebase to an Excel file (including donation summaries YTD, LY, LY-1). I then do a conversion using JFile Conversion, which puts it in a form that I hotsynch into JFile4. I then open JFile5 on my Palm and it asks me if I want to convert my JFile4 file to JFile5, and I answer yes. I end up with my Ebase records in JFile5 on my Palm, with the functionality of that database available to me (multiple field searches, boolean searches, etc.). It is not ideal, but workable. I do not have a JFile desktop version, although I am not sure that one isn't available (see links at www.land-j.com/jfileu.html for related available software).

I think a script to export names and >addresses to a central server like Address Book Enterprise was my thought. I use a JFile conduit to sync some non-ebase files to my PalmOS handheld. That isn't available any more, but FileMaker Mobile would provide a similar path if you are using ebase with FileMaker, not the runtime application. You won't get the functionality of ebase, but it would be possible to sync a limited data set between the handheld and the ebase files. You would undoubtedly need to build a layout and script within ebase. > >TIA, > >Kjell Stenberg >Technology Strategist >ME3, [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >-----Original Message----- >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Beth Hynes >Sent: Monday, May 20, 2002 3:45 PM >To: TechRocks Support >Subject: [support] Re: customized letters > > >First, you should not make a new thank-you letter nor rename any of the list >of thank-yous already in ebase.
