Since several people asked for my script that records monthly membership I have put two pdf files that are printouts of the scripts on a web site [forum does not allow large attachments]. FileMaker does not provide any simple way of exporting scripts so retyping from a printout is the norm.
http://www.nynjtc.org/committees/techweb/monthlymem.pdf http://www.nynjtc.org/committees/techweb/insertline.pdf The MonthlyMem script does all the computations putting the results into global fields. At its last step it calls an external script in the file where the global data will be recorded. As I said previously, we have some modifications in this area so you will have to elide those script steps that don't apply to an unmodifed ebase. There are two areas of changes: 1) We have several record types other than IND which are important to us. We have member clubs and a bunch of others (called Other). You can probably just delete these lines and deal only with the IND records. 2) We have expanded values in the member status field. Besides Current, Grace and Lapsed we have Inactive, Deceased and No Payment. Again, lines containing these can probably just be deleted. For the curious, we have redefined Lapsed to be from 3-6 months and Inactive more than 6 months to aid in our resolicitation of members. We go after the Lapsed members agressively. Deceased is obvious. We have a large number of people in the database who are not members and never were. These are all marked No Payment (instead of just being blank). You should be able to deduce the structure of the history file from the field names which are all numeric except the first field which is a date. ------------------ Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------
