The documentation says this, but I think it is false for pfSense 1.0.1.

I installed embedded pfSense in a 6 NIC box from 
http://linitx.com/product_info.php?cPath=4&products_id=909 with a Kingston 
512 MByte Compact Flash.

I had pfSense console at first time. 

The only trouble I had was choosing the correct image for my box (pfSense-
1.0.1-512-ad2.img.gz from http://shopping.hacom.net/catalog/pub/pfsense/) 
and modify the BIOS in order to boot from Compact Flash.
