I have a Intel Atom based board that I'm trying to get pfsense to
install on. I can boot fine into safe mode but I get a panic message
when I try the default boot config. I can reproduce this from both the
pfsense ISO and after an actual install onto the hard drive. I'm trying
to install 1.2.3 (downloaded today).
I've searched both the forum and the support mailing list archives for
kernel panic, intel atom, bootloader.conf, and mptable_walk_table but
didn't receive any helpful results. A google search of the error
message listed below shows several links that lead to a C programming
language file called mptable.c
Here's the message:
panic mptable_walk_table: Unknown MP Config Entry 194
Here are the board's specs and hardware configuration:
Jetway Manufacturer
Intel Atom dual core 1.6 ghz processor
2 gigabytes RAM
Sata Drive
3 realtek 8110 PCI NICs on daughter board
1 realtek 8119 PCI-Express onboard Nic -- disabled in bios
Onboard Audio -- disabled in bios
ACPI -- disabled in bios
USB 2.0 -- disabled in bios
Floppy Drive -- disabled in bios
SATA Generation 1 -- forced in bios (the hard drive is only 1st
generation hardware, but just to be sure)
Does anyone have any suggestions that I might find helpful to get this
system to boot the default pfsense?
Thanks for your assistance.
