All that really matters to my ISP (no doubt most of the others, too) is that
they can keep track of my hours of usage. <g> They apparently seem to know
my time usage -- whether I'm using Windows, PC DOS or Linux.
Personally, when I first started my ISP account, it never even occurred to me
that I would have to ask for support when using another operating system;
*I* didn't even know that was possible, until I learned about Net-Tamer
under DOS. It was a very enlightening experiment to connect to the Internet
with DOS without even asking my ISP. All I had to do was adjust the logon
script language of my ISP's Windows connection to that of Net-Tamer's under
PC DOS. After a few trials and errors, it worked like a charm. It's an odd
little script, unlike any of Dave Colston's samples -- it even surprised
him when I showed it to him! <g> Instead of ending in a "ppp" statement of
some kind, it ends with "blast 2", which *selects* the ppp choice from a
logon *menu*.
