I have a few of those. The trouble is that without
documentation it is hard to guess at the switches.
Often you can be lucky and they just work when you
plug them in.

You don't use drivers AFAIK, they just continue the memory
addresses where the on-board RAM left off. Hence the need
to get the dip switches correct. They are no good in
anything but the slowest computers. Definately a liability
in a 486.
  But hey, it sure would be cool if you could speed up
your RAM with a driver! Hehehe You could sell that!

They were cool on XT's but don't forget that they run on
the BUS and so can only be accessed at bus speed, NOT at
the processor speed. That means they are veeeerrryyyyy
sloooowwww. <g>
