I've found the xpdf site. Its on:

Seems to support up to PDF format 1.2. If anyone will want to port
it, it also means porting some of the X-Windows basic fonts or
making other fonts availble. It looks portable, especialy since
its using only standard X-Windows and do not use Motif or Xt
libraries. Source is definetly availble... infact, you can download
the source and compile it yourself to use it.
(There's an intresting port of xpdf for Windows 3.1/9x/NT there)
