Pippi, thanks, thats what I would do too, using Paint Shop Pro on
Windows 95 on my P350. But I took on me a challenge to proove that
an impressive site can be built on a 486 running DR-DOS with no
version of Windows at all, using Edit and DOS graphics software.
And I managed to do it quite well, so far.
And regarding the claims that GIFs do not support more then 256 colors,
Well yes. they DO support. There is no limit, infact. Have a look at what
the most newest Windows programs are capable of doing. And QuikView
is having no problems viewing them. Now the only question is if there
is a (small) DOS based conversion utility that would do it.
What I am looking for is a small program and a simple one, like DJPEG
and BMP2GIF. (They cant do what I am looking for, btw. DJPEG only
accept JPG as input file, and BMP2JPG cant do more then 256 colors.)
