Programs may run faster but you will find a lot of DOS programs that won't
run at all or only after some repair work.
In many cases this is caused by Turbo Pascal.
I for myself still curse the day that my 486 broke down and I was forced to
get a Pentium II. At that time old stocks were practically unavailable
in this market and I thought it a good idea to take something real fast.
My advice, if everything runs fine on your system, do not upgrade.
Blessed are the pessimists, for they have made backups.
