Hi Yolanda,

   The reasoning goes something like this: If the board
burnt out one chip, it will probably burn out the next.
Also, putting parts together to make another motherboard
is not something most people ever get around to. <g>
   Actually, in my kitchen, there's a stack of old
motherboards which is over two feet high by now. I haven't
had the heart to throw them out even though half of them
probably could be fixed, given enough time and effort. I
did find that the bios off an early 286 came in handy
once. Otherwise they will probably be used to build a room
divider in my space ship when the time comes for me to
leave here. <g>
