Yes, I use Opera (have used both 16-bit and
32-bit versions.  Bought myself a license).

Let's take the Trumpet WinSock thing first.
I recently helped a friend of mine get up with
Trumpet using a local ISP.

There is a script file in the trumpwsk directory
which drives the dial-up procedure.  It's a text
file and can be edited with notepad.  If you
view this file, you will find a section toward
the end where it *ought* to report success,
where it "expects" a particular string in the
data stream and extracts the IP address.

If it can't find that string, it fails.
Turn monitoring/logging on so you can watch
the dialup/login dialog as it happens.  Make
note of the string your ISP sends after you
send your name and password.  Compare with
the expected string in the script.  Fix the
script so it expects the proper string.

There are other possible issues, but let's
do this first.

Oh -- one other thing, your provider *may*
have a special way of identifying your user
name as PPP (like user! or user.ppp or #user).
You might look into that, too.

Let me know what you find ...
