Hi, Klaus,

There have been earlier discussions of the
"win-modem" hardware in this group.  The
short story is that certain Windows drivers
"replace" certain hardware elements (for
which read "pretend-modem").  Since some
of the hardware components are NOT THERE,
the modem won't work with DOS without some
mythical drivers.
