Your best bet with a 486DX-100 is to make it a win95 or 98 machine. Very few
programs on CD are made for the DOS only environment. I would suggest ou have at
least 16mb of memory, if not 32 and at least a 500mb hard drive if not a 1.2gb or
more. ou can type MSD at the DOS prompt and find out your hard drive and RAM
sizes. Get with someone local about helping you install Win95 or 98 from scratch
as well. If you have DOS programs to run also then you an go to DOS mode in 95
or 98 to run those or set them up on shortcuts and adjust the properties to have
it close on exit, adjust memory, etc.
