you can call a special number, here in my city it's 244-6411, and there is
a computer that will tell you the time. Yes, the caller ID box, or a phone
which does the same, does retrieve the date from the telephone company's
mainframe. I don't know how you'd teach your computer to do the same, but
maybe if you go about it right the phone company will tell you. Just have
to ask the right person I expect. Try calling repair service when it seems
they'd be slow, like in the middle of the night, and tell the person there
what you're after. Worse s/he can say is no!
