Why not shackles and handcuffs to control people's movements within
acceptable parameters.....????
I guess that the "technical" solutions abound - but the art lies in
solutions that involve some risk (to our feelings and the health of
our precious hardware) - and encourage a sense of ownership by the
community we seek to serve. Any system, hardware or whatever that
reduces the potential for the community to develop a sense
of ownership of the equipment is, IMHO, a ticket to failure.
I surely don't have any answers - but am following this thread with
eager anticipation. I have been associated with an intentional
community of low-income families for going on 11 years now and would
love to help do something to get some public access to the resources
of the Internet. We have the resources to do what we want - within
limits - but could use some help on a model.
Great thread - where the technology rubber hits the road...
