Great stuff guys!
I think there is a parallel processing FAQ out there - but without
looking at it, I would probably be a bit overkill.
Right now I am, as they say back home, up to my *&(* in
alligators, but when things slow down I will join the fun by
getting my XT's connected - probably just use SLIP for
now...don't know where to start looking for ethernet cards for
the XT....
My plan has always been, and remains, to restrict the older
machines to CLI by either telnetting in or just using them as
straight terminals. But, I know there is also an Arachne in
DOS-EMU FAQ out there that may be the basis for some interesting
possibilities. Why not run made-for-DOS apps in a virtual DOS
machine?
I suspect it may complicate licensing issues to do this, but
software like the New Deal Suite may make it possible for those
8086 machines to cope. IIRC there is also a NewDeal under
DOS-EMU FAQ at the newdeal site, somewhere in the tech documents.

Well I gotta run, I want to read that GITS article before the
alligators (well, they're crocodiles, here - close enough) catch
up....
