He has gone down to the bigger city (where his parents live) (for the
Spring Break) and looking for some parts others have suggested. (ie
trying some more SIMMs)

 ] The paper probably won't help.  If you shorted the MB, it is probably one of
 ] the screws or standoffs.  Removing the MB from the case completely is the
 ] best way to avoid this, at least for a test :-)

The standoffs are all plastic, except one and that had a large PC
track around the screw-hole.
