Full version here. Yes, it is identical to the trial except for the
pause. If you're used to the wizard-type setups such as found in the
later DR releases, you'll be disappointed with PTS setup. You are left
with a default setup and must edit config and autoexec by hand. After
finding the right settings, though, you've got something quite fast and
useful.

Prevously, I installed PTS-DOS over DR twice and got a clean uninstall
both times. Some others have told me of problems with uninstall. If
possible, install by fdisking with PTS' fdisk. As you'll have to play
with some settings, it may be better to do so with no real data at risk.

MAKE SURE that the BIOS drive settings match your drive exactly,
otherwise, the defrag program (COMPDISK) will cause data loss. It uses
low-level calls, so if the info is incorrect, it will crash when trying
to write to the end of the disk.

I purchased the full version from their retailer's (Digital River)
website, and now I wouldn't use anything else on this P 60. You'll only
know if it is *your* OS if you try it. I really believe that if one is
happy with their OS, whichever it may be, then they've got the best
there is. =)

If you'd like to try it, I'd be happy to offer more specific setup
advice. Mail me with your computer specs, and I'll send suitable
examples of config and autoexec back. The config settings make a bigger
difference with PTS than with any other DOS I've seen. Let me know
whether you'll be using Windows, as some really advantageous settings
can't be used in conjunction with Windows.

I'll be compiling PTS-DOS info, a FAQ, and better docs (greatest lack
right now) and posting them on the web. I'll post here when done; just
remember I'm slow. =}

PTS-DOS *is* missing a UMB provider for machines which don't have
physical RAM in that range. If someone knows of a free UMB provider,
please post or mail.
