Not really SurvPC related but still intresting from a tech POV:
I got a friend who have 2 computers at home, connected with a Windows 95
LAN using Novell type IPX, and my friends like to play multiplayer
games over there. I've been watching and thinking: There are only
2 computers in location. Why not try to connect a 3rd computer via
dial-up? For example, 2 people in his place playing on LAN, and I
can connect to him via dial-up from home. This question is bothering
me for some time now.. There are 2 ways to do it as far as I know:
1)To use some sort of a "remote LAN login" program that will allow me
to use IPX over the modem with their network. The server part will
have to be for Windows 95 (they dont use DOS for games much, so they
didnt put the network on DOS)
2)Try to bypass this by using PPP. Convert the network to PPP based,
and then install a "dial-up server" like the one common at ISPs,
which means that I will be able to connect to him by using my
'internet dialer' and use internet multiplayer option in the game.
I'm thinking to use PPPBBS for this one, although I believe that they
will prefer to find away to do the first suggestion.

Any suggestions?
