Because Windows' dual-boot only works on one disk - and by renaming IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS, COMMAND.COM, CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT to *.WIN or *.DOS. It wasn't any good when I tried to set it up to boot DOS from drive D:.
