Steven, you might just be the person that I need to talk to. I am
just starting to experiment with Linux, and I need all the help I can
get to do my first install painlessly. While my PC ain't spankin' new,
it serves the purpose for me: Celeron 333 6.1 GB HD, and a few toys. I
am a DOS throwback and it was only this year that I ventured into
Win95. (NOT impressed!!) But I have my system setup with three
partitions (Partition Magic) Two primaries let me run good 'ol DOS (IBM
PC DOS 2000) in one, and WIN95 in the other. The third partition is for
general storage and such. With this setup DOS and WIN95 NEVER actually
see each other (and I LIKE it that way <BG>)
Sorry to be a wee bit long winded so I will try to wind it up fast.
I bought Open Linux 2.2 (20 bux CDN) and it comes with a cut version of
PM, a GUI and Wordperfect. I had no prob in setting my own Partition
Magic to create a new one for Linux, but I am unsure as to how to do the
swap partition and initiate the setup. My package did come with a
BOOT/install disk, so I figure that should get me into the CD if I boot
into the new partition. Let me know where to go from here.... Thanks.
