I think the usb modems are a joke and a half. They're advertising these
things with the concept that you can transfer data up to 500 times faster
over your usb port. They don't tell folks that the usb speed isn't the
limiting factor in the modem transfer speed. So, all these poor saps are
ripping out their serial modems expecting faster transferrs and being
sadly disappointed byt the usb performance. That kind of advertising
really should be criminal.
