How much space does your Dell laptop have?  Maybe you could partition
Windows off from your DOS to use the USB, if necessary.  On my Toshiba, I
stuck Win98 in its own partition (1.8GB out of 4.3GB)... sort of like an
occasional utility for a few odds and ends... safely out of the way of DOS
and Linux. ;-)  I'm certain that USB could be utilized somehow with DOS, but
there's so little interest in DOS these days, it probably won't be done.
But what the heck.  Most of us aren't trained jugglers who need to balance
99 continuous operations all day long.  Complicated multitasking is more
properly the business of high-pressured professionals, like networking
technicians, in my opinion.  Task-swapping under DOS is enough for most of
us average folks. :)
