Hi folks!
This might seem a bit OT, and the problem doesn't concern me, but a
friend of mine, so I hope you'll excuse me. Anyhow, as I know there is such
a vast amount of expertise gathered on this list I thought it might be
suitable to put the question here anyway:
My friend has a computer running Win98 (horror, not really SURV-PC,
right?) on a machine he has built himself out of scrapped and new parts.
Sometime ago he reinstalled Windows, and now he cannot make his
Internet-applications work. The modem is connecting and establishing a
connection, but he gets the following message from Netscape:
"Netscape was unable to create a network socket connection. There may
be insufficient system resources or the network may be down."
Anyone has any ideas concerning how to solve this problem, apart from
the obvious:
deltree C:\windows
and installing Arachne instead?
