Believe it or not, this awful syntax is actually legal.  Worse, its
behavior is indeterminate.  It will walk through the current directory on
drive C: (or G:) offering to delete each item (file or subdirectory) it
encounters.  The current directory might or might not be the root!  Without
knowing what the current directory is on drive C: you can't know what
DELTREE C: will attack.

On a more humorous note, DELTREE CON and DELTREE LPT1 are also perfectly
legal, and "work" with no error message.
