If DATE 03-01-2000 or DATE 01-03-2000 (or substituting / for -) gives the
same error, try changing your COUNTRY= directive in CONFIG.SYS to something
that uses four digit years (should be listed in HELP/manuals, but IIRC
Sweden was one).
