Do you have a pair of serial connectors that are wired into a "loop
back"? Then you need comm software that performs a standard loop back
test.
I suggest you do a web search on the following "loop back", UART, 16550
- if you don't come up with anything send me a private email and I'll
look on older tapes for possible archived info.
I know I have seen shareware software that does this sort of testing and
has the pin out for building loopback RS-232 connectors.
