Interesting indeed, Bjorn.
I just downloaded another (freeware) utility, "Partition Manager"
- mentioned by someone else here a short while ago (or was is a link
from one of the listers' www pages ?) - which offers enormous facilities
and flexibily; offers up to 31(!) selectable boot partitons and runs
even from '286s on (which means even a workaround with "big" HDDs for
such systems).
Though a similar thing there too: it needs at least VGA.
Now this is somewhat imcomprehensible: in my limited understanding,
something which works so close to the basic hardware, and possibly
is even thought to run in a "no OS" situation, should rely on the basic
text screen default output in any case, and with "any screen" (and
interface card), i.e. with the machine's BIOSes and no mather what
means of outputting very first messages after the POST (the "BIOS
output TTY video mode", if I remember the term correctly).
I think I'll write to the author of that other proggy with the same
question you've put to the one who wrote XOSL.
And that Java and PDF shit is definitely a no-no.
The more so as it's certainly counterproductive if he wants to spek with
other people than Winno$glarer$. Hope you told him that, too.
