Hmm... i found a partition and boot manager some days ago, but i'm not sure,
maybe it's the one you're talking about, hammer (you didn't give an url)

i didn't have the time yet to test it, but it looks like this one doesn't
need vga... the docs say the boot manager can be run in text mode...
