If you bother a (possibly somewhat labourous) explanation -
how do you set it up: from scratch / from an existing (fully)
installed setup manually ?
(And what distribution did you use to start with ?)

Additional Q. (even more work): How about setting this setup on an
(external) Zip-disk - did you try ?  What should a start-up (booting/
rescueing) diskette have to contain ?
(The idea with this would be to have some means to start up "any"
machine, be it one dead in the water, or new/uninstalled, or such).
