Well, I've been using a new freeware firewall for w9x, www.zonelabs.com
called zonealert. Very cool program, except it seems to be causing
significant crashing. not sure yet if it's bugs or bad configuration on my
part.
Nice thing is it can put your machine into total stealth mode.
Anyway, this may be why format froze, except I can't recall if I was using
it yet at that point.
