My fave editor for HTML is Homesite. They had version 1.2 out a year or so
ago
as freeware. It's my all time favourite. Being able to search and replace
text in every document in a directory-wondrous. I tried a lot of others
before Homesite, but kept going back to notepad. The problem with Homesite of
course is that it is a Windows program.

hehe! I remember that too. Way back when. Before I saw ws_ftp I'd been
using NCSA Telnet&FTP for DOS. This was the only way I'd ever FTP'd. You
wanna try explaining FTP to a casually interested newbie that way? I was
blown away by WS_ftp because it was the first GUI FTP I'd seen. And I thought
"YES! I won't have to spend an hour to explain HOW I downloaded a program".
Suddenly I could e-mail this little program over to them, and ta-da! So you
see, GUIs have their place. Though I value every "old" tool and command line
I can use with ease. There are times you just gotta have them.
