Depends on what software that is, some games that are made for Win95 will
NOT work. Star Craft comes to mind - I think every game that uses
smack32.dll, or something like that, are going to give you trouble. Some of
these (once again Star Craft) have bug-fixes for this.
Personally Win98 was slower than Win95 for me, however I noticed something
interesting when I switched back to my old installation of Win95 (on
another HD that hadn't been in before - I used a completly fresh 10.1GB HD
for Win98 at a "LAN party") it found the settings for the network on the
other HD and copied them into it's own (I hadn't had the network card
installed earlier, and no IP address set for that matter either).
