Indeed.  The university where I work saves bundles of money by taking
advantage of license-only deals.  As an example, for every copy of
Microsoft Office we buy(*), we save approximately $30 by not purchasing
the media along with the license.  Many educational institutions and
businesses take advantage of this and other "site-license" type deals
offered by software vendors.

(*) - Yeah, I know, I know, but the faculty has demanded that we offer
MS Office as the suite, because, quote, 'this is what the students will
encounter when they leave here'.  I've been using StarOffice or
WordPerfect for DOS at home, myself.
