It's purely a mail transport agent, (with integrated dial-up and PPP);
from its own DOC:

Any decoding of all or (MIME-)parts of mail contents has to be done
otherwise (and by the user).

You're right however in that "Netmail Pro" (there's some confusion
with the name "Netmail", used by some other progs too) is simple and
straightforward to set up, and that it's among the smallest in terms
of footprint.

With free local phone-in to one (1) ISP it's one of the best and
easiest MTAs, especially for its really good PPP and dial-up parts.

There's a disadvantage with that though, outside of Nort America - almost
everywhere else each local telephone connection is billed, with a lump
sum for each one and then time-metered. This sums up as Netmail Pro
needs dialing in with each sendmail session, and anew with each different
mailbox/ISP to fetch mail from.
