Hi,
Thanks for your replies.
<What sort of board is it, and what is the "other DOS
<computer" ?
Pentium 200Mhz 16550 UART
<If the modem is a Plug-and-Play (usually PCI) board,
<DOS may not be
<aware that it exists at all. (PnP usually redirects
<IRQs, port
<addresses and COM numbers. "Com1" really isn't com1
<under PnP.)
<Of course, we have to assume it isn't a Winmodem.
<If you had given the Zoltrix model number, we
<probably could have
<looked it up to see if it actually is DOS compatible.
It is an external Zoltrix 565K Rainbow with Rockwell
chipset.I e-mailed Zoltrix and they told me that my
modem is DOS compatible and that I should check that
my COM ports are correctly configured.
<There are some dos diagnostic programs you could try
<to like Modem Dr.
As Mike told me, I downloaded Modem Dr.I ran all tests
on my Pentium computer and everything seemed correct,
but the modem wouldn`t work with Goin Postal.
When I tried modem Dr. on the Hp 200lx I got errors,
but I was able to talk to the modem in terminal
mode(terminal mode is included in modem Dr.).
I have also tried nettamer and I cannot get an answer
from the modem either.
What am I missing?
Do I need to configure my com ports with "MODE" or
some other DOS command?
Thanks,
Inigo
