If you want to do backups, linux has backup tools. dump and tar come to
mind and there's syntax that will allow tar to write to and restore from
multiple floppy disks. The thing is, tar was originally written to support
tape drives. There's ar and cpio and zoo and zip as well, this is provided
you're using something like red hat or one of the other major distributions.
zip like tar can span multiple disks as well. There's probably some other
neat scripts available too. Figuring out how to get tar working with a tape
drive can be difficult. I haven't managed that yet so I can't help you
there. lha is also available for linux and that also spans multiple disks
and is freely available and functional in dr-dos afaik.
