Especially since a lot of users don't use DOS, and Windows won't show
extensions a lot of the times.  My computer shows extensions, but my
friend's doesn't, and I have to right click to properties to see what
kind of file I'm looking at for sure.

Most current users would recognize an exe file, but not a com file, I
think.  This aren't the old days of DOS.
