Dear Paul, Well, question is, what OS is your friend using. Not that I've ever needed to have a "boss key" but when necessary, I've used Alt-Tab to switch to the next application quickly, when someone was coming. In DOS, there were several TSRs that you could load that would put up a screenful of information at the touch of a key or two. I'm afraid it's been a long, long time since I've had need to investigate those, so I don't remember any names to search for. For Linux, I tend to use the CLI mode, so Alt-Fx will switch to another console window in most distributions. Hope this helps, Anthony J.
