Actually, the problem with this logging stuff is more
fundamental than that. Even without any other disk
activity, depending on the DOS and who knows what else,
this logging stuff can dramatically affect the stability
and performance of LSPPP and should never be enabled.
David is aware that this can be a problem, hence the
"/z" option is not officially supported.

Well, my interest has been just with the LCP problem
introduced with LSPPP 0.75, and have been working "off
and on" with David to resolve it. Over this time, I have
tested LSPPP 0.760, 0.761, 0.762, 0.763 (two variants)
and finally, 0.766, which finally solved the problem
and was then renamed as 0.8 ...

I am vaguely aware that other issues were being resolved
(eg. LCP message sequence numbering I think) at the same
time, but these didn't seem to trouble my ISP. In the
end, the LCP bug that bugged me, was that LSPPP 0.75+
did not "escape" characters below $20 if there were retries
during the LCP negotiation. My ISP seems to mix plain
text login with LCP messages, so I guess this was causing
a few retries and hence triggering this bug.
