Chester - those PCMCIA-adapters for CF-cards were so-to-say the first "natural" devices to use those cards, and you find them cheap ( <15 USD). But:
To use the "card" (PCMCIA) ports/connectors of a laptop you need an OS running _and_ having some sort of "card service" prog with it. This is principally different from the IDE-compatible CF-card adapters described here earlier; these connect to the bus pins on the motherboard (where the HD (E)IDE controller recognizes them as a "drive"). I'm on the look-out too for a solution which would allow just that with the PCMCIA-"slots" the laptops provides: which would allow to boot from such a CF thingy as well. Obviously, that's another cattle of fish. Didn't see anything the like yet. // Heimo Claasen // <hammer at revobild dot net> // Brussels 2002-08-03 The WebPlace of ReRead - and much to read ==> http://www.revobild.net To unsubscribe from SURVPC send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe SURVPC in the body of the message.
