In the case of one zip file that I downloaded I couldn't
even unzip it with the DOS version of PKUNZIP! In order to unzip
it I had to download and install WinZip on another machine and
then I had to copy the download to the other machine. The
extracted files didn't even require Windows in order to use them!
WinZip really sux, but I had to use it because the DOS version
wouldn't work with a file zipped by WinZip. I don't know why
anyone zips up files with WinZip. The DOS version of PKZIP is
the standard, and it is multi-platform compatible for either
DOS or Windows, and it is so much easier to use than WinZip.
WinZip is necessary only when you need to unzip a file originally
zipped by WinZip. Fortunately this problem is not encountered
frequently.
