In text mode yes, but see above. It does actually work, but
takes 5 minutes just to load, which makes it useless.

You may have to edit the chipset setting for your video card
in /etc/vga/libvga.config which is the configuration file
for svgalib.

As for X browsers on the target system, I think we can now
safely say that mozilla and konqueror are out. I now have
Opera on my test PC (P133 16mg ram) and it seems to run about
the same as Netscape 4.73, although it segfaults when I try to
access my Bank's online service. It doesn't do this with Debian
(3.0, kernel 2.2.19) on the same box (but it runs a lot slower).

Some of this javascript stuff can be a real can of worms. The
only reason I keep Netscape on my main box is for my Bank.
