Oops. That LDD I did was for Lyx, not Ted. Here's the one for Ted:

ldd /usr/local/bin/Ted
        libXp.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXp.so.6 (0x40019000)
        libXmu.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXmu.so.6 (0x40021000)
        libXt.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6 (0x40033000)
        libXext.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 (0x4007c000)
        libSM.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libSM.so.6 (0x40087000)
        libICE.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.so.6 (0x40090000)
        libX11.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x400a5000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x40142000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40163000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

I kind of thought Lyx might be a bit heavy for BL. Oh well. Speaking of
computer programs that "know what you mean", perhaps the worst offender of all
in that regard is this crazy "root" guy that comes on all my Linux installs.
Since I've never met him, I can't even plead with him personally to let me do
some of the things I'd like to on my computer! :)

Here's a somewhat unrelated matter/gripe. Since I get the digest version of
this list, which keeps me behind a bit on BL developments, I've started
looking at the list archive at Yahoo!groups. I try to use Links there, since I
am only interested in text. Well, if you've ever tried to navigate
Yahoo!groups, you'll know that every few messages, you are required to view
your dose of advertising: they stuff some page at you that's all advertising,
with a link that says "continue to message". To view the message, you have to
click on the link - but only AFTER that ad finishes loading. Though it seems
that Links could spare you that sort of humiliation, it seems that now it
won't. When you get to that page with the compulsory ad, since Links won't
display images, you get a text window that says "aren't you supposed to be
somewhere else?" Doesn't that just stink? I'd like to see someone sue them for
some sort of accessibility violation.
