I would go to www.kernel.org and get kernel 2.4.18 and the latest 2.4 prepatch version ( probably 2.4.19-pre9) put linux-2.4.18 and the patch in /usr /src. untar the linux-2.4.18. patch the kernel with: zcat <patch name> > patch -p0 cd linux make menuconfig make sure correct drivers willbe built. make dep make make modules make modules_install put files in place and edit silo.conf

Tips please. Is there a "suse/sparc" modified kernel.tar file with patches, or should I use the generic kernel.tar? And if there is a "sparc" patched kernel, url? :) -Brook -----Original Message----- From: Christian Langnickel [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, June 21, 2002 10:51 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [suse-sparc] Audio working on a Blade 100? I couldn't find much on google.groups, sunblade 100 faq, or > web. The sound driver in kernel 2.4.14 is broken. I think the best solution would be to install kernel 2.4.19pre10. Is there anybody who has succeeded in compiling that kernel ? If yes, could you put it on a ftp server, where I could download it?
