I disagree. Firefox 1.5 and Opera 9 native SVG are already usable. 
 
Yes, they are not as fast and feature complete as ASV, but if you 
avoid certain SVG features that aren't implemented yet, you already 
can do a lot. I am pretty sure that both Mozilla and Opera native 
SVG will improve a lot in the future. ASV is now in its third 
version, Mozilla and Opera just started. 
 
Also the fact that the native implementations integrate with the 
rest of the browser world opens a lot of new opportunities.
