Whether they do or not will depend entirely on what they think will maximize their profits. Right now I suspect they probably think supporting SVG natively won't do much one way or the other for their bottom line so I, personally, will be surprised if they exert themselves unduly to support it.
In a perfect world of course they would, since it's a W3C standard and has a good number of supporters around, including me. If your app has to be deliverable in IE from 2009 onwards you might be wise to look at things like Open Laszlo (http:// www.openlaszlo.org/) and Dojo2D (http://www.dojotoolkit.org/) that can translate your app into something the browser is capable of rendering.
