Their loss if they don't. In the meantime I intend to use a lot of SVG in my web applications. I've thought about this quite carefully, because when I started dabbling with SVG recently it seemed initially like I was hitting all the designing for a specific browser shenanigans which, as a developer, I've pretty much haven't had to worry about for a few years now.
2009 is a long way off though. The native support in Opera and Firefox is not going to go away - and the support for SVG in mobile devices and vector drawing packages is improving apace. In the short-term, clearly I'm keen that my clients who use IE can get SVG via ASV, but I'm less worried about the longer term - especially after the boom in the alternative browser market of the past year or so. They'll have to do something pretty drastic with IE soon anyway as it falls way behind the other browsers now. My prediction is that native SVG will likely turn up in IE before 2009. They'll probably claim to have invented it and all... ----- To unsubscribe send a message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -or- visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svg-developers and click "edit my membership" ---- Yahoo!
